The Philadelphia 76ers are currently in control to potentially land P.J. Tucker this offseason.

Insider Marc Stein wrote that the Sixers are being considered as favorite ‘by far’ to acquire the veteran should he decide to leave South Beach.

Stein further noted that Tucker is expected to be shown a $30 million offer sheet to join the Philly team.

“If P.J. Tucker is prepared to leave Miami, Philadelphia is regarded as by far the favorite to sign him away, league sources say. Tucker is poised to receive a three-year, $30 million contract offer in free agency from Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, GM for Tucker’s first three seasons in Houston, according to a Tuesday night report from The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey.”

Tucker recently declined his $7.4 million player option for next season, giving himself a chance to enter the open market and sign a brand-new deal with another team.

The 37-year-old veteran had an average of 7.6 points per game on 48.4 percent shooting (41.5 percent from three-point land) and 5.5 rebounds in his first year for the Miami Heat last season. He served as a crucial piece for the franchise to nearly seal an NBA Finals seat over the eventual Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics.

Other than the Sixers, both the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks are rumored suitors for Tucker. The Heat also expressed its interest to retain his service.
