BREAKING: Lakers sign Chris Jent

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers are hiring the Atlanta Hawks assistant Chris Jent to become the top assistant coach.

The new Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham recruited Jent over the past week to lead his staff. Jent has a strong history with LeBron James from their early Cleveland years.

Darvin Ham and Chris Jent worked together for a season with the Hawks under Mike Budenholzer and have maintained a strong relationship.

Before pursuing coaching, Jent played basketball professionally for a decade, including a two-year run in the NBA. The 6’7 forward appeared in games for the Knicks and Rockets in the mid-1990s.
