Colin Cowherd on Steph Curry: “He’s the most influential player ever”

The arrival of Steph Curry to the NBA changed the game of basketball. His three-point shooting ability switched the focus of the teams to long-range shots instead of using bigs inside the paint.

Sports analyst Colin Cowherd is of the opinion that the three-time NBA champion had more influence on basketball than the legendary Michael Jordan.

Simply because of the fact that he changed the way the game is played as opposed to Jordan who as great as he was did not change the actual game.

“I don’t get people who don’t get Steph. He’s the most influential player ever,” Cowherd said. “Michael Jordan had influence in marketing and style, clothes, winning at all costs. I’m not saying Michael did not have influence, he didn’t change the game. He was just the greatest player for a long time in the game.

“Literally, all of basketball is different because of Steph Curry. High school, AAU, college, pro, international – Steph Curry. Three years ago if you had taken poll of NBA players, not just fans, over half would have chosen Russell Westbrook over Steph. I know, right? Players. Over half would have taken [James] Harden over Steph. Those guys aren’t winning players. Sports is about winning games.”
