Jimmy Butler gives credit on Dwyane Wade’s motivational message that help him guide Heat past Celtics in G6

When it mattered the most, Jimmy Butler stepped up big time and didn’t shy away from the bright lights of the NBA postseason arena.

But in his perspective, his recent all-time performance against the Boston Celtics won’t be possible without the guidance of none other than his team’s greatest player — Dwyane Wade.

Butler revealed on Friday that Wade tapped him up and sent him a motivating message ahead of the must-win Game 6 for the Miami Heat.

The star swingman noted that the remarks of the iconic two-guard gave him an inspiring boost to erupt for a superb outing to silence the raucous TD Garden.

“Honestly, I got a phone call and text message from D. Wade earlier today. And he was telling me that I could do this. Knee a little banged up, but nobody cares. ‘Go out there, continue to build your legacy.’ That meant the world to me, so I appreciate you, D. Wade,” Butler said after the 111-103 victory, via Larry Brown of Larry Brown Sports.

After presenting rough showings from Games 3-5 this Conference Finals, Butler became an invincible one on both ends tonight and delivered a much-needed statement game, recording 47 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals over 46 minutes.

Wade managed to carry the Heat to an NBA title in 2006. Certainly, Butler is on a mission to write his own history of bringing the said franchise to the league’s mountaintop this year.

As such, Game 7 on Sunday can only determine if this glorious journey of Butler will continue further.
