The Heat had an unusual preparation for this year’s NBA playoffs. While most teams were in their gyms getting ready for the postseason, Miami players travelled to Bahamas for a short vacation.

It turns out that the trip was planned by Kyle Lowry who was granted a permission by the head coach Erik Spoelstra to carry his plans out.

Via Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports:

“Kyle met with me and told me what he wanted to do with the team. He had all the logistics figured out and I gave him my blessings,” Spoelstra told Yahoo Sports. “There are only about a handful of players like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Udonis Haslem who’ve played for this franchise that I know could have pulled off something like this. It shows you how special Kyle is and how much we really respect him as a person and a player.”

Miami is currently trailing 2-3 in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Celtics. Game 6 will be played later today in Boston.
