Steph Curry: “We all are extremely proud of what it took to get back here”

The Warriors will play in their sixth NBA Finals over the last eight years after defeating the Mavericks 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals.

Steph Curry, who has been with the team this whole time, says that the team is extremely proud of what they accomplished after two tough years.

“Everybody says, like, ‘The championships that you win, what was your favorite?’ Looking at every team that got you to this stage, there are things that kind of jump out good memories and just amazing experiences that you went through,” the three-time NBA champion said.

“This one is very sweet just because of where we were in 2019, obviously Klay and KD going down during that playoff run. Being so close to winning three in a row and then again the adversity that you had over the last two years. Like I said, we never lost the faith, but you got to understand how long or how hard of a process it’s going to be to climb that mountain again.

“And to do it with this team with guys that like Wiggs [Andrew Wiggins] and JP [Jordan Poole], Belly [Nemanja Bjelica] and Otto [Porter Jr.], GP [Gary Payton II]. Guys that are amazing at buying into their roles and understanding how they can help us win but haven’t been on this stage before.

“It’s just amazing see them blossom on this stage and find ways impact winning and then realize how much fun that is. I think internally we all are extremely proud of what it took to get back here. And yes, that’s definitely sweet based on what we went through.”
