Shortly after his long-awaited return to the court Mantas Kalnietis’s season ended due to a need of another surgery.
Kalnietis injured his shoulder in the last warm up game of Lithuania national team in Zagreb against Croatia and had to miss most of this season.
He returned to the court for Lokomotiv Kuban in February but never got into shape. Kalnietis later admitted that he felt pain in his left knee the entire time. He wasn’t even able to train fully.
After 12 games this season Kalnietis took a decision to take a knee surgery which will put him out of action for another 6-8 weeks, meaning his season ends now.
Kalnietis wants to be fully fit for the training of Lithuania national team, therefore he decided not to wait any longer and have a surgery at this time.
