Gary Payton II is getting closer to returning to action from an elbow injury that he suffered as a result of Dillon Brooks’ flagrant 2 foul in the second round series.
Melissa Rohlin reports that the 29-year-old shooting guard has started to do various light individual on-court activities and will be re-evaluated in one week.
He could make a return in the Western Conference Finals against the Mavericks if the series extend long enough. After two games the Dubs hold a 2-0 lead.
This postseason Payton II is averaging 6.1 points, 3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 15.9 minutes per game.
