Last year’s MVP Vasilije Micić took his Anadolu Efes to the Finals of the EuroLeague 2021-2022 by taking the buzzer-beater shot against Olympiacos for the final score of 74-75.

In his home country, the atmosphere was unfriendly for him. The crowd was cheering for Red and Whites in Štark Arena which was packed with Olympiacos fans from Greece. But that didn’t stop Vasa to seal the deal.

“I used to play in this atmosphere, didn’t have any problem with the fact that almost all were cheering for Olympiacos. It was amazing atmosphere and I like playing in this atmosphere.”

The last shot that decided the winner silenced the “unfriendly” crowd but awaken his Serbian mentality.

“My intentions wasn’t to tell the people that this is my house, but my Serbian mentality was awaken. During the game I missed some shots, it didn’t look quite good. During the whole game I was trying to get in my form, and in the end I managed it,” said Vasa who had an issue with an injury during the game.

“I will see tomorrow how serious it was and hoping it isn’t. The most important thing is that we win the game and now we have to focus on the new on. It was amazing feeling to win here. Both teams deserved but I am glad we did it,” said last year’s MVP.
