Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins was tasked with guarding Luka Doncic in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Mavericks.
He played a big part in limiting the Slovenian superstar to 20 points while also scoring 19 points himself. The former number one draft pick was praised by the Dubs head coach Steve Kerr for his performance.
When asked about guarding Doncic, the 27-year-old small forward said that he is just trying to make it difficult for his opponent.
“Just trying to make it tough for him,” Wiggins said postgame. “Whatever happens after that, happens. He’s good, he’s gonna make shots. He’s gonna find his teammates. I’m just trying to make it tough.”
