The Warriors had a big task of stopping Luka Doncic in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Andrew Wiggins was given this duty and he handled it quite well.

He helped limit the Slovenian superstar to just 20 points when his playoff average is 31.5 points per game. In addition, Wiggins scored 19 himself.

After the game Dubs head coach Steve Kerr praised the 27-year-old small forward for his defensive job against Doncic while saying that the Mavericks superstar is one of most difficult players to guard in the NBA.

“I thought Wiggs was fantastic,” Kerr said. “Doncic is as difficult a cover as there is in this league. We just asked Wiggs to try to hound him and guard him as best as he could, stay in front and try to keep the pressure on him.

“He did a fantastic job. Wiggs is just a huge part of our defense and our team. I though he was great offensively as well. Great night for Andrew.”
