According to Washington Examiner, Russia has barred the U.S. Embassy from visiting WNBA All-Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist Brittney Griner, who has been detained in the country since February.
Russia’s latest block was the third time the country refused to allow U.S. officials to visit Griner in a single month. The athlete’s detainment was extended an extra 30 days last week.
Brittney Griner, 31, was arrested at Moscow airport on February 18 for allegedly bringing vape cartridges containing hash oil – which is illegal in Russia – into the country.
