The Brooklyn Nets paid the most per 3-pointer over the course of last season, with their successful 3-point shots coming in at an average cost of $167,936, the highest in the league. The LA Clippers came in second place, with their 3-pointers costing them $157,109 on average, and the Philadelphia 76ers placed third, with their 3-pointers coming in at $152,873 on average.
The Oklahoma City Thunder got the best 3-pointer return for their money, with their successful 3-point shots costing them an average of just $47,563. The San Antonio Spurs managed a great return on their salary bill, which resulted in their 3-pointers costing them $86,339 on average. The Detroit Pistons had the third best return for their money, with their 3-pointers costing them $90,311 on average.

With regards to the fans’ perspective, based on the average price of a ticket and home game statistics during the 2021 season, the research also revealed the cost of a 3-pointer for the fans at the game (assuming all home games were attended):

Lakers fans paid by far the most amount of money per 3-pointer, possibly down to their extraordinarily high home game ticket prices, with their fans having to pay $8.02 per 3-pointer at the Crypto.com Arena.
The Minnesota Timberwolves gave their fans the best value for money per 3-pointer, with fans at the Target Center having to pay just $0.78 per 3-pointer thanks to their great 3-point shot return and below average ticket prices.
