Lakers owner: “The team is not for sale”

This past season was a disappointing one for the Lakers. It started with hopes of winning another championship after adding Russell Westbrook and ended with a 11th-place finish in the Western Conference and no postseason.

Last year was not that much better. Los Angeles had to fight for a playoff spot via a Play-In tournament just to be eliminated in the first round by the Phoenix Suns.

Despite a couple of tough seasons, the team owner Jeanie Buss is not even thinking about selling the Lakers that she inherited from her late father.

Via Bill Plaschke of Los Angeles Times:

“Will Jeanie Buss ever consider selling the Lakers? What do you think? “In terms of selling the team, I’m not going anywhere. This is exactly what my dad asked me to do,” she said, adding, “The team is not for sale.” She said it’s about far more than an investment, it’s about a journey laid out by Jerry Buss when he handed her the keys.”
