Brian Windhorst: Trail Blazers “popped up” as potential landing spot for Zach LaVine

The future of Zach LaVine in Chicago might not be as certain as it used to be not so long ago, according Brian Windhorst. This summer the 27-year-old shooting guard is set to become an unrestricted free agent and it is not guaranteed that the Bulls will keep him.

Chicago will face competition from other teams with the Trail Blazers popping up as a potential landing spot for LaVine. Portland will look to add a star player next to Damian Lillard and he would fit the bill.

This past season LaVine averaged 24.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 34.7 minutes per game for the Bulls. He was selected for the NBA All-Star Game for the second year in a row.

Via Joseph Zucker of Bleacher Report:

“ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported at the 22:00 mark of his Hoop Collective podcast Tuesday that the initial impression around the NBA was that LaVine was “off the market.” Now, there isn’t as much certainty about him staying in Chicago. Windhorst added that the Portland Trail Blazers have “popped up” as a potential landing spot.”
