James Harden on Joel Embiid: “He is the MVP of the league”

The 76ers won a second game in row to tie the second round series against the Heat. After Game 4 the teams are tied at 2-2. Philadelphia had Joel Embiid return to action in Game 3 after being out with an orbital injury since Game 6 of the first round series against the Raptors.

The Cameroonian center scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Game 4, helping the Sixers take an important home win (116-108). He was praised by his teammate James Harden who also talked about the series in general.

“He is the MVP of the league,” Harden said about Embiid. “Credit to our guys. We had the right mindset going to both games. It’s difficult without Joel to win if you don’t make shots. We didn’t make shots the first two games. If we make shots, it’s probably a different ball game.

“We still had that confidence going to Game 3 knowing that we can beat these guys. Obviously, bringing Joel back was the X factor. Our confidence level remained high and we just kept that same swagger going to Game 3 and then going to Game 4 as well. We got to put a whole game together both ends of the floor to be able to go out there and get the win.”
