One of the biggest events in the second round series between the Warriors and the Grizzlies was Dillon Brooks’ flagrant 2 foul on Gary Payton II which led to the latter fracturing his elbow.

The Golden State point guard is expected to be out for at least three weeks. In best case scenario Payton would return for the NBA Finals, if the Dubs make it that far.

Brooks’ teammate Brandon Clarke talked about the flagrant foul on The Lowe Post podcast hosted by Zach Lowe. He said that the injury was unfortunate that his teammate feels bad about what heppened.

Via Taylor Wirth of NBC Sports:

“I watched it again, and Dillon definitely fouled him way too hard and did something that he shouldn’t have done. But it’s tough. There’s obviously falls every game that could definitely result in somebody getting hurt, but you really don’t want to see somebody get hurt off a flagrant, obviously. I know that Dillon feels bad. It’s just a real bad part of the game, but hopefully, we all can move on from that.”
