Surgery unlikely for Joel Embiid

According to John Clark, surgery is not required for the Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid’s orbital fracture at this time. He had surgery on the fracture 4 years ago and returned in 3 weeks vs. the Miami Heat.

He’s out for at least 5 days with a concussion. No timetable for his return. But there’s a chance Embiid will return for the Sixers in the semifinals against the Heat.

Philadelphia will face Miami in the second round, with Game 1 Monday night in South Florida. The top-seeded Heat beat the Atlanta Hawks in five games.
