Monty Williams, Jae Crowder on whether Devin Booker could become a coach

Devin Booker has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for the last three playoff games. The 25-year-old shooting guard has been very engaged in the game while being on the bench.

This prompted a question to the Suns head coach Monty Williams and Booker’s teammate Jae Crowder on whether the superstar could be a coach one day.

Williams was clearly surprised to hear such question before giving his response. “Book?! Book has no patience for coaching at all,” he said while smiling. “It is no shot… there’s no way. He’s unbelievably competitive but I couldn’t see him being an NBA coach at all.”

Crowder had a similar response. “No, he don’t like it. He’s good as a player being engaged but I don’t see him coaching. He don’t have the patience for a coaching job right now. Maybe when he gets older.”
