The Pelicans upset the Suns to tie the first round series 1-1. New Orleans, led by Brandon Ingram (37 points) and CJ McCollum (23 points) made a strong push in the third quarter and Phoenix without Devin Booker was unable to respond.
After the game Pelicans forward Larry Nance Jr. addressed the talks by basketball analysts that predicted the Suns to sweep Ne Orleans in this series.
“Everybody said ‘sweep’ except the people that matter,” Nance said per Jim Eichenhofer. “We don’t care AT ALL what any analyst says, what any ‘expert’ says. We believe. New Orleans believes.”
