Steph Curry “very optimistic” he’ll play Game 1 vs. Denver Nuggets

Steph Curry has his eyes set on a return for the first game of the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

Steph Curry is hopeful he will be able to play Game 1 of the Golden State Warriors’ first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets. The point guard continues to make good progress in his recovery and took part in his team’s first playoff practice on Wednesday, having been sidelined due to a sprained ligament in his left foot. And, from all indications, he will be ready to return by the time the series kicks off.

Speaking to teammate Draymond Green on The Draymond Green Show, the eight-time All-Star expressed optimism over possibly suiting up for the first game of the postseason series.

“The goal has always been Game one,” Curry said. “The goal still remains Game one, I’m very optimistic that it will be Game one.”

The 34-year-old did note that he’s still dealing with pain in the foot. He also claimed to be excited about the Warriors’ return to the playoffs, adding it’s unbelievable they’ve had to watch at home for two years.
