The NBA slapped point guard Patrick Beverley a $25,000 fine due to his improper conduct towards an official in the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 124-120 defeat against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.

Beverley was jawing and confronted a referee in the dying seconds of the game’s first half. He was eventually assessed with a technical and ejected from the game.

The veteran guard and his promising Minnesota team are scheduled to face the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday Play-in Tournament for a right to fill the seventh seed of the Western Conference and face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the upcoming playoffs.

In his first season representing the Timberwolves, Beverley is averaging 9.6 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds. With his presence and mentorship, he is looking to help the franchise to reach the postseason stage for the second time in four years.
