There is a looming belief that the Sacramento Kings won’t commit their future plans with interim coach Alvin Gentry, as they will go on a hunt to land a proven tactician this offseason.

Long-time NBA insider Marc Stein detailed on Saturday that the Kings have initial candidates to consider in their list in Mike D’Antoni, Mike Brown, Terry Stotts, and Steve Clifford.

Sacramento continues to endure the longest playoff drought in league history, wherein they haven’t stepped yet within the postseason arena since 2006.

The franchise officially became the holder of the lowly recognition this season, as they failed to breach into the contention picture for etching a 29-51 record. In November, they dismissed Luke Walton from head coaching responsibilities and opted to stick for a while around Gentry.

The Kings feature a talented roster that is being led by the one-two punch combo of De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. Both of them are supported by plenty of notable players which can be boosted further as they are headed to the offseason.
