Luka Doncic receives 16th technical foul this season, to possibly become unavailable in Mavs’ season-ender

International phenom Luka Doncic was handed a technical foul during the Dallas Mavericks’ wire-to-wire game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.

The call serves as the 16th for the superstar, which will automatically put him in a one-game suspension unless the league will overturn the decision made by the officials via review.

Doncic questioned the absence of a whistle against Blazers guard Elijah Hughes who had a contact in his last-second buzzer-beater attempt in the first frame. The 23-year-old swingman raised his concern and was held by teammate Dorian Finney-Smith.

A few seconds ago, Tony Brothers, the crew chief of the match, then slapped the fuming Doncic with a technical call.

If ever, Doncic will be out on their regular-season finale against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday – an impactful game that will determine if Dallas will either lock the third or fourth seed of the Western Conference entering the postseason.

Last month, Doncic had one technical foul against the Golden State Warriors that was revoked by the league.
