Kyrie Irving throws shade on Bucks’ recklessness in Nets loss

Kyrie Irving isn’t entirely a fan of the Milwaukee Bucks’ grinding and hard-nosed style of play.

Following his team’s narrow loss in the Thursday statement game, the star point man spoke about the physicality that the defending champs have offered. Irving also expressed his doubts and dissatisfaction on the officiating of the entire match.

The Bucks went to the free throw line for 34 times in the whole 53 minutes of play including the overtime, while the Nets only settled for 14 — a disparity that Irving also pointed out.

“They were playing pretty physical,” Irving said of the Bucks, per Stefan Bondy of New York Daily News. “I think they were a little reckless at times. Just on a lot of their fouls. Or a few of their fouls.

“That’s who they are. But I think it was just reckless at times.”

Due to the smothering presence of All-defensive standout Jrue Holiday, Irving went ice-cold in the crunch time of regulation and OT, ending with just 25 markers since 4:00 mark of last frame and was helpless of aiding Kevin Durant to take over.

“I’m not going to get into individual plays,” Irving added. “I’ll leave it up to people who are observing the game. But it’s just recklessness. Just being in the way at times when it’s just an easy play to avoid.”

With the loss, the Nets dropped to 40-37 and had a tie-breaker record with fellow Play-in hopefuls Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks.
