Apart from his first year with the Lakers when he won a championship, Anthony Davis has been dealing with injuries that limited him from playing a full season.

Some analysts have started questioning AD’s future in Los Angeles. For example, Stephen A. Smith called for the Lakers to trade the superstar. According to NBA inside Brian Windhorst, such possibility is not out of question.

“I think it’ll be something that’s discussed,” Windhorst said on Get Up. “I think it would be a mistake because you’re still talking about a guy when healthy is a top 15 player. you’re not going to be replacing it.

“And something I’ll say about LeBron, he loves sitting at his house in Brentwood drinking wine on his rooftop deck with his little fire pit out there.

“He likes being in LA and if it means he spends the next year and a half just chasing the Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] record and that is his nightly motivation that may be something he is willing to do even though that is a departure from the LeBron that we have seen for most of his career.”

This season Davis is averaging 23.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 35.1 minutes per game. He is targeting a return from nearly 2-month absence this coming Friday.
