Mikal Bridges played team-high 50 minutes as the Suns earned a tough win against the Kings in overtime (127-124). The 25-year-old small forward was second in scoring for Phoenix with 27 points, behind Devin Booker who had 31.

But it’s his defensive that Bridges gets most credit four. After the game Booker described him as the obvious Defensive Player of the Year.

“He’s Defensive Player of the Year, no doubt,” Booker said of Bridges. “The criteria just varies so often so it’s kind of hard to pinpoint who the NBA wants to be but I think it’s pretty obvious what he’s doing.

“Like you said, the versatility of it from guarding point guards to four man to five man sometime and going in for 50 minutes a game. He plays a lot of minutes also and we win games, we win close games. I think we’re up 9-10 games on whoever’s in second place. So it’s pretty obvious to me.”
