Frank Vogel reacts to LeBron James passing Karl Malone

The Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James became the NBA’s all-time second-leading scorer on Saturday night in the second quarter against the Washington Wizards, via ESPN.

The Lakers player passed former Utah Jazz forward Karl Malone on the all-time scoring list with 5 minutes, 20 seconds left in the quarter. James finished the game with 38 points in a 127-119 loss, leaving him with 36,947 career points.

After the game, the Lakers head coach Frank Vogel praised LeBron James for his “incredible energy after playing 45 minutes last night. … He just attacked the game tonight.”

Vogel talked about LeBron passing Karl Malone: “What an incredible feat … a signature performance in which he passes one of the greats.”
