Pistons coach Dwane Casey praises Saddiq Bey after 51-point outburst against Magic

Right at the post-game of the Detroit Pistons-Orlando Magic Thursday clash, there’s no question that Saddiq Bey will be showered by flowers and petals due to his 51-point eruption.

Bey, who led the Pistons in a dub after carving up 51 markers in 17-27 shooting and 9 boards, is now the newest member of the scoring outburst party in the league recently.

And certainly, his mentor Dwane Casey can only offer nothing but love.

“It was a great performance from Saddiq Bey,” said Casey, via The Athletic’s James Edwards III. “To see him bounce back the way he did, he was white hot. That’s something I think he’ll always remember as an NBA player.”

“It’s great for the young man, a second-year player; it’s beautiful to see.”

Casey also commended Bey for trying to involve his teammates in every play, wherein he still recorded 4 assists on the occasion.

“There’s nothing about Saddiq Bey that’s selfish; he’s a team guy.” (h/t Rod Beard of Detroit News).

Via StatMuse, the second-year man Bey joins Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard in a rare club that features players who had 50+ points, 50+ boards, and 10+ threes.

Definitely another season of rebuilding for the Pistons, but seeing some pieces of their promising core flourish on a nightly basis will definitely pay off one day.
