Isaiah Thomas on LaMelo Ball: “He’s going to be the face of this league”

Isaiah Thomas, who has just signed his second 10-day deal with the Charlotte Hornets, spoke highly of his young teammate LaMeLo Ball.

According to the former NBA All-Star, the 20-year-old point guard has what it takes to become the face of the league in future. This season Ball became an All-Star for the first time in his career. It is his second year in the NBA.

Via Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer:

“I mean, he’s going to be the face of this league,” Thomas said after Friday night’s 142-120 win over New Orleans at Smoothie King Center. “He’s already an All-Star. Give him two or three years and he’s going to be top-five, top-10 in this league easily. He’s a special talent. He’s very young. He has great energy. His pace to the game, you can’t teach his pace. And he’s, what, 6-foot-7? He has the full package.”

This season LaMelo is averaging 19.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game for the Hornets. Charlotte is currently tenth in the Eastern Conference, just enough for a spot in the play-in zone.
