Kevin Durant on shutting down 76ers fans that made Ben Simmons chants

The highly anticipated game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets ended with a blowout win of the visitors. Even though ex-Sixer Ben Simmons did not suit up for the Nets, he was present in the arena, prompting chants from the Philadelphia fans.

Brooklyn took a big lead early in the game as they won the first quarter 17 points (40-23). The 76ers were unable to narrow the gap and the gap was only increasing as the game progressed.

According to Kevin Durant, who had team-high 25 points for the Nets, it was nice to quiet the Philadelphia crowd which was hostile towards Simmons.

“[Ben Simmons] already knew we had his back but it just felt good to quiet all of them down mid-way through the game. It was very quiet towards the end. It was very quiet towards the end. We ain’t hear no more Ben Simmons chants from the Sixers fans,” Durant said after the game.
