The Lakers were unable to defeat the team with the worst record in the entire NBA. The Rockets managed to bring the game to overtime and took a commanding lead during the extra five minutes to take the win (139-130).
“Our guys competed, they fought,” Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said after the game. “Houston played really well, give their young guys credit. These guys came out and competed. We get everybody’s best shot and those guys played terrific.
“But our guys stayed with the game. We had too many defensive breakdowns throughout the game, controllable things that we have to be better with. Our guys fought and this wasn’t enough.”
