The Brooklyn Nets are going through bumpy season. After starting it as one of the favorites to win a championship and topping the Eastern Conference for several months, the Nets dropped sharply and now find themselves in the play-in zone.

There is a considerable gap between the eighth-placed Brooklyn (32-31) and the sixth-placed Boston (37-27). According to NBA analyst Ric Bucher, the Kevin Durant is enough for the Nets to make a push for the playoffs but they will need additional help in order to go further.

“The Nets can make a playoff push with KD, but to go anywhere in the playoffs, they need Ben Simmons to fill the gaps that the Nets have,” Bucher said on UNDISPUTED. Simmons is yet to make his debut in Brooklyn. He has been held back by back pain and will miss the much anticipated game against his former team the 76ers.
