NBA analyst: If LeBron James was elite, the Lakers wouldn’t be 5 games under .500

LeBron James is putting historical number in his 19th season in the NBA. The 37-year-old superstar is averaging 29 points, 7.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 36.7 minutes per game.

Despite his impressive individual performances, the Lakers are struggling and are still fighting for a place in the playoffs, and quite possible, for a place in the play-in tournament.

According to NBA analyst Ric Bucher, this is an indication that James is no longer an elite players even if his numbers are great.

“I respect what LeBron is at 37, he’s still a very good player. But the suggestion that he’s elite…if he was elite, the Lakers wouldn’t be 5 games under .500.”
