Portland Trail Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkic will miss at least four weeks with left foot plantar fasciitis, the team announced today.

Nurkic, who has been playing through symptoms of the injury since September, will continue his treatment and recovery program and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

In 56 games, the 27-year-old has averaged 15.0 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game, while shooting 53.5 percent from the field.

Nurkic’s field goal percentage and rebound average are both career-highs and he has also recorded 30 double-doubles this season, which ranks eighth in the NBA.

In his absence, rookie Trendon Watford, a former two-way player who recently signed a four-year deal, and Drew Eubanks, who recently signed a 10-day contract, will likely get more playing time in the frontcourt.
