CJ McCollum has already played five games for the New Orleans Pelicans after joining the team just before the trade deadline. Interestingly, the 30-year-old star guard is yet to talk to his co-star teammate Zion Williamson.
“I haven’t had conversations with him directly,” McCollum said, per Mason Ginsberg. “I’ve spoken with some people close to him & look forward to sitting down with him sooner than later. I know about as much as you do right now but I’m gonna get to the bottom of it.”
Williamson has not played a single game this season due to a foot surgery and it seems that the Pelicans fans will have to wait even longer to see the young star in action again. It was reported that Zion may need a second surgery on his right foot.
As for McCollum, he made a strong start in New Orleans individually. Over five games with the Pelicans he averaged 28.4 points, 6 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 36.6 minutes per game. The team lost four of those games though.
