Skip Bayless: “What’s happening to Harden is what happened to Westbrook”

Sports analyst Skip Bayless weighed in on the recent trade rumors surrounding James Harden. It has been reported that the Philadelphia 76ers are very interested in acquiring the 32-year-old superstar.

There have also been conflicting reports on whether Harden is happy in Brooklyn with the more recent one claiming that he is actually satisfied. In a recent interview Kyrie Irving said that during his communications with the Beard the latter appeared to be committed to the Nets.

Bayless’ impression is that Harden does not care and is in similar situation like his two-time teammate Russell Westbrook. “It looks like Harden doesn’t care,” Bayless said on UNDISPUTED. “What’s happening to Harden is what happened to Westbrook: once the athleticism starts to wain, you’re gonna have some problems.”

This season Harden is averaging 22.5 points, 8 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game for Brooklyn. Since joining the Nets last season, his scoring plummeted from low 30’s to low 20’s.

The 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons were the best for Harden in terms of scoring as he averaged 36.1 and 34.3 points per game respectively.
