For the first time in his NBA career Anthony Davis will not take part in the All-Star events after not being selected as a reserve. The Lakers superstar admitted that he expected such outcome.

“I kind of figured I wasn’t [going to be selected for All-Star reserves] just about the amount of games that I missed,” Davis said after the Clippers game in which he scored 30 points and grabbed 17 rebounds.

“It’s the first time since my rookie year.. actually I went to All-Star my rookie year because I was on the rookie team, so that’s my first time in my career where I don’t have to go to All-Star. So I know my wife is ecstatic. I could spend time trying to be an All-Star, be somewhere else.

“But congrats to all those guys, man, especially the Klutch guys. Obviously Darius Garland on his first selection I think Zach [LaVine] is first time All-Star too, second. I have more opportunities so I’m sure to be in there.”
