Carmelo Anthony on his big game vs. Blazers: “I was floating today”

Carmelo Anthony had 24 points and 8 rebounds coming off the bench as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers at home to snap a three-game losing streak.

The 37-year-old forward was near perfect from the three, making five of six shots from beyond the arc. He was 3/6 from the two-point zone. After the game Anthony was asked if he felt differently in this game as he appeared to be in the zone.

“Honestly, I can’t explain that,” Melo said. “It’s hard to get you to understand that, no disrespect, like if you haven’t ever felt that, it’s hard to tell you what zone that is or what it feels like out there on the court.

“It’s a good feeling. Things are just clicking, things are going the right way, everything feels like it’s a line and it’s not just in the game, the whole day just felt I was floating today.

“I don’t know why but it was just one of those days, you wake up, you feel good. Maybe rested from the long road trip that could have helped too. But also understanding the implications of our games now and that we have to step up and we have to go try to win these games.”
