Lonzo Ball meniscus surgery a success – Bulls HC Billy Donovan

A sigh of relief for now on the side of the Chicago Bulls faithful about Lonzo Ball.

Head coach Billy Donovan stated in the pregame of the Bulls’ Friday home turf clash against the San Antonio Spurs that the 24-year-old point guard underwent successful knee surgery (h/t Julia Poe of Chicago Tribune)

Last week, the Bulls announced that Ball will be ruled out for six to eight weeks after a medical procedure to fix his small meniscus tear in his left knee.

As Ball will be shelved for an extended period of time to go along with fan-favorite Alex Caruso who also had surgery on his fractured right wrist, Chi-town will continue to rely on the production and ball-handling duties of Coby White and rookie Ayo Dosunmu.

Despite losing some of their rotational players from the recent injuries, the DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine-led Bulls remain resilient as an Eastern giant, sitting as the second placer of their conference with a 30-17 card.
