New York Knicks seems to be disappointed with Julius Randle’s production this season, and they could be willing to move him in a deal for the right price, according to Ian Begley of SNY.
“It’s worth noting that one team in touch with a member of the organization recently is under the impression that Julius Randle would be available for the right return.The Knicks and Randle agreed to a four-year extension prior to the season. But the idea that his name would come up in trade discussions shouldn’t be a surprise.”
Randle signed a four-year, $117M deal with the Knicks last summer. His new contract will kick in next season. Randle seems disconnected from his All-Star self this season.
In the last 15 games, the star forward averages 16.1 points on a 38.5 percent shooting from the field. Randle was the main reason the Knicks made the first playoff appearance last year; however, his presence and leadership during a tough season so far obviously could lead the NY franchise to make tough decisions at the trade deadline.
The Knicks are three games under .500 with 33 games left in the regular season. They may need to shake things up regarding their roster to make the leap from a play-in team to a playoff squad this season.
