Report: Jerami Grant doesn’t want to play a tertiary role behind LeBron James, Anthony Davis

Jerami Grant has emerged as one of trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the trade deadline but it seems the deal is not happening.

According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, the purple and gold stopped pursuing the 27-year-old small forward because he is not interested in being a third option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

“I’ve actually heard Lakers have passed on Jerami Grant. He doesn’t want to play a tertiary role behind Bron/AD. Lakers would also have to invest big money (extension) in him,” Pincus said on The NBA Chat podcast, per Ralph Mason.

This season Grant is averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 33.2 minutes per game for the Detroit Pistons.
