Russell Westbrook was close to reaching his usual triple-double as he scored 24 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 9 assists against the Miami Heat but it wasn’t enough for the Los Angeles Lakers to win the game.

The purple and gold started the game slowly and had to work the entire game to come back from 26-point deficit. According to Westbrook, the Lakers did not sense a feel of urgency early in the game.

“We just started not too slow but picking up a little too late. Our sense of urgency was a little late,” a former NBA MVP said postgame.

“Just pay harder. We weren’t playing hard enough,” Westbrook said when asked what how the Lakers managed to come back in the game. “When we decide to play hard, you see the difference. I doesn’t matter in this league what a team runs or what it is. If somebody’s playing harder than you, you will right away. That’s that.”
