Frank Vogel addresses Lakers’ loss against Heat

The Los Angeles Lakers managed to reduce a 26-point deficit to just 4 against the Miami Heat but were unable to take the win. After a poor first quarter, which the Lakers lost 25-39, it was an uphill battle for the rest of the game for them.

According to Frank Vogel, the biggest challenge for Los Angeles against the Heat was the movement of their opponents which he compared to that of the Golden State Warriors.

“This team with their movement really challenges your defence and you have to be on point,” Vogel said postgame. “They’re very unique, they’re very similar to Golden State’s type of movement. That’s what we saw when we played these guys in the Finals. Your defense really has to be connected.

“We just had few too many breakdowns and they made us pay with everything. Even when we had solid defense they hit a tough three. So give them credit for coming out strong.”

This loss keeps the Lakers (23-24) in 8th place in the Western Conference, while Miami moved to the top of the East with 30 wins and 17 losses.
