‘He’s reminding everybody that he actually is human’ – Steve Kerr brushes off Steph Curry’s ongoing shooting woes

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr isn’t minding Stephen Curry’s cold performances from the past few games.

Following a tight 94-92 home victory against fellow West contender Utah Jazz, Kerr spoke in front of the media and unworried about his superstar’s recent inconsistencies.

“Steph looks great physically,” Kerr told reporters, via Janie McCauley of the Associated Press. “The last few games he’s playing some of his basketball in terms of handling the point guard duties. He’s taking care of the basketball, he’s playing great defense, shots just aren’t going.”

Per statistics by StatMuse, Curry recorded five occasions this season out of six throughout his career wherein he had an abysmal shooting in a minimum of 20 attempts. This Sunday against the Jazz, he bricked up with 5-of-20 shooting to go along with an unbelievable 1-of-13 from the three-point line.

Hence, Kerr clarified that Curry just lets people think that he is also a human, who will have unavoidable off nights at certain times. Moreover, the decorated coach added that people were just used to the two-time MVP being a sight to behold, that’s why they are reacting differently these times when the point guard is having some cold touches.

“I think what’s happening right now is he’s reminding everybody that he actually is human. He’s seemed inhuman for so long. I think everybody just expects him to be in a groove all season long and it’s just not the way it works.”

Three-time champion Curry is having a season averages of 26.3 points, 6.2 assists, 5.3 assists, and 42 percent shooting – the second-lowest in his illustrious career behind the 2019-2020 campaign wherein he only appeared in five games (40%).

With Golden State still clinging to a high record in the West this regular season upon holding a 34-13 card, things remain all good collectively on their side. Time will only tell if Curry might eventually turn things around as he is remarkably stronger, capable of turning on the switch and retaining the heat of his flame as an all-time great offensive machine.
