LeBron James on Russell Westbrook: “He’s a head of the snake”

Russell Westbrook had a strong performance in a game against the Orlando Magic after being benched for the final four minutes in the previous game.

The 33-year-old point guard had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in 35 minutes of play. He mate 8 of 17 shots which was an improvement compared to some of his recent games.

There were speculations on how Westbrook will respond to being benched in crunch time. NBA insider Brian Windhorst shared an opinion that it was on LeBron James to manage Russ in what he described as a very volatile situation.

It appears that the four-time NBA champion managed to sort things out. “That’s one game. I think he let last game go and was focused on this game, he was focused on the new game on the new trip,” James said about Westbrook postgame.

“He’s a head of the snake when it comes to being our point guard. He puts us into position, his attacks are great. He did a good job of getting into the paint either for his shot or spraying out and guys just played off of his energy and effort tonight on both ends of the floor.
