Boston Celtics reportedly make Dennis Schroder, Aaron Nesmith available for trade

Boston Celtics are expected to be active in the trade market ahead of the Feb.10 deadline. According to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, the Cs made Dennis Schroder and Aaron Nesmith available for trade.

The Celtics have several aspects of the team to improve, being under the .500 (20-21) mark in the middle of the 2021-22 regular season. Boston has expressed interest to bring Jeff Green back from Denver.

At the same time, they inquired for Phoenix Suns’ big Jalen Smith. The Celtics are at a crossroads now, and they have to make moves and maybe bring a veteran presence, like Jeff Green, in the locker room.

“The Boston Celtics have expressed interest in re-acquiring forward Jeff Green, league sources told HoopsHype. Green was coached by Brad Stevens in Boston. I’ve also heard former lottery pick Aaron Nesmith and guard Dennis Schroeder are also available in Boston. They’ve made several calls doing due diligence, including to Phoenix regarding Jalen Smith’s availability.”

Smith has emerged in the Suns’ rotation during the last few weeks. The Suns declined his option earlier this year, and he will be an unrestricted free agent next summer.

As of now, Boston won’t be able to re-sign Dennis Schroder to a better deal next summer as the contracts of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Al Horford are holding the franchise in the luxury tax.
