Lakers to decide on Avery Bradley’s long-term stay this season

The Los Angeles Lakers have an important decision to ponder this week.

Indeed, they have to think about securing or not the service of Avery Bradley for the remainder of this season.

Bradley, who was claimed off waivers by the Lakers for their final roster spot upon the removal of Golden State Warriors in the offseason, has a non-guaranteed, one-year deal, worth $2.6 million. On Jan. 7, the veteran’s contract will be assured, and the Lakeshow management has the power to choose if they’ll cut him or not in their lineup.

The 30-year-old Bradley has been an impactful role player for the Lakers so far. With his ever-reliable instincts and shooting repertoire, he is covering the team’s defensive woes on the perimeter while knocking down shots when it mattered the most. He is averaging 6.4 points, 2.5 boards, 1.0 steals, and 40 percent shooting from three-point land in almost 24 minutes of playing.

As the lopsided Lakers have the most challenging opponents to face as they move forward in this 2021-2022 season, the impending decision will truly make a huge swing on their fortunes and competitiveness.
