Bradley Beal on playing point guard: “It was fun, it was fun. I enjoyed it”

Wes Unseld Jr., head coach of the Washington Wizards, had to improvise after losing four point guards, due to the Health and Safety protocols. He made a decision to play the team’s star Bradley Beal at the point guard position.

The 28-year-old shooting guard did not disappoint. Beal finished the game with a massive double-double of 27 points and 17 assists. He turned the ball over just 2 times.

Even though the Wizards lost by a single point against the Bulls, it was a good experience for Beal, who said he will be ready for the next time to play as a point guard.

Via Chase Hughes of NBC Sports:

“When you’re playing the point, you’ve gotta run a team. You have to get guys into the offense, you have to get guys into position, you’ve gotta get guys shots, you’ve gotta talk, you’ve gotta be engaged, you’ve gotta encourage,” he emphasized. “You’re the head of the snake at all times. It was fun, it was fun. I enjoyed it. There was definitely a lot I can learn from that. If it happens again, I’ll be ready.”

Last year’s NBA’s scoring champion is averaging 23.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game for the Wizards this season.
