The Los Angeles Lakers made an early push in the win against the Portland Trail Blazers as they scored 43 points in the first quarter against 28 that their opponents scored.
After the game, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was asked what the reason was behind such an energetic first quarter. “I just think our guys fell like we had a really positive trip with the Houston game and controlling the game most of the Memphis game, disappointed that we weren’t able to close that out and came in motivated to keep building and keep growing.
“We felt like we grew over the last few games even though we haven’t been collecting the wins. I think they were motivated to come out and get that W and executed at a very high level.”
